Michaela, the driving force behind Beyond Compliance, is a solicitor who spent 13 years working for one of the top 25 national firms as a solicitor and graduate trainer and then quality and audit manager. This mix of experience has given her excellent problem solving and analytical skills, equipping her with a unique ability to conduct risk and compliance auditing to ensure regulatory compliance as well as business process improvement. Michaela is also a business development and performance coach and delivers bespoke training and coaching on a wide variety of topics. She has used these skills to support legal services providers with their compliance needs for the last ten years.

Michaela has spoken at a number of leading legal services events including the Legal IT Business Show and the Legal Futures Conference. She has also delivered seminars and webinars for MBL Seminars.

Molly Egan

Compliance Specialist

Having worked for 4 years in legal practices whilst studying law, Molly had a head start on gaining a genuine understanding of the practical side of the legal profession. This experience was in a variety of practice areas enhancing her experience further and also included research projects into changes in the law as well as on developing best practice.

With this experience, Molly was in an ideal position to use her developing skills in legal analysis, research, and drafting. Within a short time, Molly has shown an innate ability for compliance work particularly risk assessment and management. She finds that working in regulatory compliance fosters her passion for the legal profession and allows her to add real value in a practical way.

Outside of work, Molly is a keen equestrian with a focus on eventing and, of course, taking care of her horse, Fenick who can be very demanding – like a 4 legged child!

Chloe James

Compliance Analyst

Chloe started in career in the veterinary field and began exploring her interest in the law through completing a master’s degree in animal welfare policy and legislation. Her desire to learn more being greatly piqued, she made the transition into the legal compliance arena, starting at Beyond Compliance as a Compliance Administrator, progressing quickly to Compliance Analyst. Chloe’s excellent organisational ability keeps us all in line (!) and her exceptional data analysis and research skills, coupled with her attention to detail and inquisitive nature make her a natural compliance talent.

Chloe fuels her passion for animals through her expanding family of pets, including her two cats and her ex-racehorse, Archie.  She also finds entertainment law fascinating and devours podcasts and social media on the topic.

Chelsea Sparks

Compliance Consultant

Following her undergraduate law degree, Chelsea began working in the legal profession as a barristers’ clerk, whilst studying for the New York Bar exams. After qualifying as a New York attorney, she began the process of transferring to the Bar of England and Wales. During this period, she worked with international law firms on a variety of e-discovery related projects; launched a London based set of chambers and worked as the senior clerk; volunteered on capital punishment cases in Austin, Texas; offered legal assistance to a practising media law barrister; and, worked as a civil county court advocate.

Chelsea has an eclectic legal background which gives her an informed, interesting and innovative approach.
